At Artistic Blinds, we’re proud of every project we complete, but some carry a significance that goes beyond the product itself. Our recent installation at St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol is one of those projects.
About St Peter’s Hospice
St Peter’s Hospice provides compassionate, specialist care for adults in the Bristol area living with life-limiting illnesses. Their team works tirelessly to ensure that every patient is treated with dignity and that comfort remains at the heart of everything they do.
The Project
Funded through the HUK Grant, the project saw us supply and install bespoke retractable awnings across the hospice’s patient rooms. The aim was simple but meaningful: to give patients the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, natural light, and peaceful outdoor views while remaining sheltered from the elements.
In spaces where small comforts matter most, these awnings create a calm place to pause. They offer a quiet moment by an open door, a gentle breeze on your skin, and a view of the garden, all while staying protected from rain or harsh sun.
Carrying Out the Work with Care
From the outset, we recognised that this was far from a standard installation. Working within an active hospice environment called for a high level of sensitivity, discretion, and respect at every stage. Our installation team approached the project with quiet professionalism, taking care to minimise disruption and remain mindful of patients, staff, and visitors at all times.
This thoughtful approach reflects how we treat every project we undertake. Whether the setting is a private home or a specialist care environment, we believe the same level of care, attention, and consideration should always apply. Every detail matters, and every space deserves to be treated with respect.
We were grateful to receive kind feedback from the hospice team, who commended our installers for their professionalism, quiet presence, and considerate manner throughout the work.
Supporting a Charity Close to Home
As a local business, St Peter’s Hospice holds a special place in our community. We were proud to support their work by delivering this project at a reduced charity rate, and we hope the awnings continue to provide comfort and reassurance to patients and their families for many years to come.
