ROMAN BLINDS

ROMAN BLINDS
Roman Blinds have become increasingly popular again in recent years because of their simplicity of construction, warmth of appearance and vast array of soft furnishing fabrics that they can be made out of. We still make our Roman Blinds by the old traditional methods. We "bag" the fabric and the lining in such a way that we end up with neat, concealed side hems, then we sew pockets into which we insert small timber battens, into which are fixed screw eyes on the reverse side. We attach the fabric at the top with Velcro to a simple painted timber batten and finish the made-to-measure Roman Blind with a simple cording system. The cord is fastened off to a cleat on the wall when pulling the blind up. Most of our Roman Blinds are made from our customers own fabrics, but take care that most geometric designs and striped fabrics are not suitable for this method as our horizontal pockets can tend to clash with a non-perfect print. But providing the right fabric is chosen carefully, the finished result can look luxurious.
