The drop-arm window awning is intended for larger window areas in buildings such as private houses, schools, offices, hospitals and similar applications. It can be fitted directly to the wall or beneath the roof overhang, and is particularly suitable for large electrically powered installations, and with the manually operated slide for the arm, has the advantage of utilising a large projection even with a restricted overall fixing height, similar in principle to the traditional shop blind. Operation is by an external crank handle. The awning can also be operated by an electric motor, which can in turn be controlled by automatic sun or wind sensors. The fittings are of extruded anodized aluminium and die-cast aluminium. The arms can be provided with totally enclosed springs for better fabric tensioning in exposed situations. The drop-arm awning can be fitted with a cover profile and end covers of white uPVC. Fabrics are available in many colours, see separate collection of samples, in either acrylic or PVC.
