PINOLEUM ROLLERS

Pinoleum Natural Woodweave is a process of manufacture that was perfected over a hundred years ago by Ballauff of Paris. Essentially, the company took the old fashioned principal of Chinese hand-made split cane, substituted bamboo with a natural softwood and automated the process, and thereby perfected a method of producing a regularly-shaped, machined, round timber slat. When woven into a fabric, this Pinoleum woodslat is flat, straight and stable, and enables us to manufacture beautiful, top-quality Roller and Roman Blinds. Chinese bamboo roll-up blinds are available, usually as a cheap DIY cut down product, in stores across the country, with the finished result usually being that you can see straight through them, which can often be somewhat embarrassing at night, especially if you don't actually realise this at first. However, Pinoleum fabric is not cheap! But because the wood is machine-woven to precise dimensions, and our blinds are tailor-made to suit your specific windows, the finished result of our Pinoleum Roller Blinds is a product that does provide privacy, as well as that beautiful totally natural wood look. The machined wood slats are woven so tightly together that the gaps between them are negligable, making our Pinoleum Blinds a world apart from all of those cheap bamboo blinds sold in the DIY stores. Pinoleum - one of the traditional arts of Blindmaking. Traditionally available, since the nineteenth century, in both natural and dark green.

PINOLEUM ROLLERS 1

Here we see an example of a traditional roll-up blind, operated by way of a simple wrap-around cord system, which is locked off either with a cord lock at the top or with a wall mounted cleat, and finished in natural Pinoleum woven wood fabric from Ballauff of Paris.

PINOLEUM ROLLERS 2

The Pinoleum Blind shown here in this beautiful kitchen setting is constructed from the famous Ballauff machine-cut timber, and uses in this example a darker contrasting colour of woven threads, highlighting the finished blind with a matching pelmet as an extra feature.
