In order to create 100% blackout to a room you will need to use a cassette type Roller Blind with fully sealed side channels, however, although the Pleated Blind system may not be totally light-excluding, at least the ESP fabric that we use is completely lightproof, and providing the Pleated Blind is installed on the outside of the window recess with sufficient of an overlap both top and bottom and at both sides, then we can more often than not achieve a good 95% blackout, generally considered adequate to stop the baby from waking up just as soon as that sunlight streams in through the bedroom window first thing on a summers morning.
